The location was marvellous, just 5 min walk from Holbeck Putting Green. Besides, we where really close to Scarborough, esplanade and the cliff. The breakfast was delicious and stunning with variety of cereal and fruit.

The staff was exceptional; always ready to please!! My visit had me there during one of the hottest days of the year. Although they did not have air conditioning, I felt safe to leave my door ajar for air circulation and it helped enormously. There was an excellent selection of breakfast choices and they were delicious. I didn't have difficulty finding close parking and the gardens just across the way was enjoyable after a long business day.
The house had a list of recommended restaurants which offered a discount. However, I couldn't remember who they were when I was ready to make a selection to eat. I'd suggest listing the restaurants on a carry along card for those of us with limited memory. I ended up visiting at least two of the recommended locations, but didn't get my discount. I blame myself for not asking about the discount. Both locations had wonderful food and service!!

A glass of wine waiting on our arrival, shown to our room and a card waiting for us congratulating us on our recent wedding, a personal touch which was lovely!! Our room was beautifully furnished, the bed comfy and clean , lots of hot drink facilities on offer! Great experience, lovely food, staff friendly and polite and very helpful. Only criticism was the bathroom was tiny and cramped!!!!

The accommodation was exceptionally clean and comfortable. Had a lovely warm atmosphere and was a very welcoming hotel to stay.
As with most hotels there is never a mirror at the dressing table nor a decent hair dryer. I had to go out and purchase a travel hairdryer as there was little or no power to the one supplied in the room.

Very friendly staff
On our second morning there was a new chef working alone and we waiting 40 minutes for 3 breakfasts to arrive and another 5 for the other 2. Other guests left without breakfast after having waited too long.

The decor was a real highlight for me during my stay, it felt elegant and charming. The communal areas were spacious and made it easy to relax. I particularly appreciated the attention to detail, especially the thoughtful touches in the room, like the branded water bottle and the lovely views. The breakfast was spot on, with excellent poached eggs that were cooked to perfection.

We were impressed by the attention to detail, not least: a welcome drink, well stocked breakfast bar, clean room, luxurious lounge with papers and magazines and very courteous staff. Also, the location is impressive with front sea views, cliff gardens opposite and Scarborough's town centre shops, harbour and castle within walking distance. All in all an excellent base for many types of holiday including coastal and North York Moors walking trips and Stephen Joseph theatre breaks.
